Youth Retreat Held at Gandhinagar in Shimoga Diocese

Bhadravathi, October 27, 2025 — A two-day youth retreat for ICYM and YCS ( Indian Catholic Youth Movement/Young Christian Students) members was held at Our Lady of Vailankanni Church, Gandhinagar, Bhadravathi, on 18 and 19 October, offering a time of spiritual renewal and faith formation for the young people of the parish.

Led by the Jesus the Living Word Ministries team from Bangalore, the retreat featured sessions of Scripture-based preaching, praise and worship, and personal testimonies that encouraged participants to deepen their relationship with Christ. A total of 73 youth took part with active engagement.

The retreat was organised under the guidance of parish priest Fr. Steevan D’Sa and Sr. Shobhana, who coordinated the programme with a focus on the spiritual growth and faith formation of the youth. Sessions were held at Providence Hall in the presbytery premises, with refreshments and meals provided throughout.

Participants shared that they were deeply moved by the Word of God and inspired by the testimonies, expressing a strong desire for similar retreats to be held more frequently to continue their journey of faith and fellowship.
