Catholic Writer And Social Commentator M.L. Satyan Passes Away

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, October 27, 2025 — Mr M.L. Satyan, a regular contributor to Indian Currents, Matters India and other Catholic publications, passed away last night after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest while at a restaurant with his family. He was in Kakinada at the time of his passing.

Known for his insightful writings and consistent engagement with socio-ecclesial issues, Mr Satyan was a respected lay voice in Catholic journalism and social reflection. His articles over the years were widely appreciated for their integrity, clarity and commitment to truth.

His mortal remains are being taken to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, where the funeral will be held.
