Goa, October 27, 2025 — The Society of Pilar celebrated the Silver Jubilee of sacerdotal ordination with a solemn Eucharistic celebration held on October 26 at the Mission Seminary Chapel, Pilar, marking 25 years of priestly service to the Church and society.
The jubilarians include Fr Amaro Martins and Fr Maria Michael from the Delhi Province; Fr Anthony Aleixinho D’Cruz, Fr Attley Gomes, Fr Daniel Gladwin D’Souza, Fr Denzil Martins, Fr Francisco Xavier Colaco and Fr Julius Ferrao from the Kolkata Province; and Fr Cherobino Fernandes, Fr Pravin Gavin and Fr Raymond Monteiro from the Mumbai Province.
The Mass was presided over by Fr. Anthony D’Cruz SFX, who led the thanksgiving celebration with gratitude and reverence. In his homily, Fr. Attley Gomes SFX reflected on the priesthood as a divine gift sustained by God’s grace, describing it as a life of self-giving “like a lamp that gives light while consuming itself, and water that gives life as it flows.”
He recalled their ordination in the Jubilee Year 2000 and linked the occasion to the present Jubilee of Hope, reaffirming their commitment “to take, to bless and to give.” He also offered prayers in memory of their deceased companions.
Fr. Nazareth Fernandes SFX, Superior General of the Society of Pilar, congratulated the jubilarians on their 25 years of service and invited the faithful to “pray for new vocations to the Missionary Society of Pilar.”
