June 20, 2026: One was a humble fisherman casting nets into the waters of Galilee. The other was a passionate preacher travelling across nations to proclaim the Gospel. Though their journeys were different, St. Peter and St. Paul were united by one mission — to follow Christ with courage, faith, and complete surrender. As the Church prepares to celebrate their feast, the faithful are invited to prayerfully participate in the Novena to St. Peter and St. Paul, seeking spiritual renewal through the intercession of these two great pillars of Christianity.
St. Peter, Patron Saint of Fishermen, Net Makers, and Shipbuilders, was chosen by Jesus to become the “Rock” upon which the Church would be built. Leaving behind his life as a fisherman, Peter followed Christ with devotion and eventually became one of His closest disciples. Though he experienced moments of fear and weakness, Peter’s life became a testimony of repentance, faith, and spiritual leadership. His journey continues to inspire believers to trust in God even during moments of failure and uncertainty.
St. Paul, Patron Saint of Missionaries, Evangelists, Writers, and Public Workers, dedicated his life to spreading the message of Christ across communities and nations. Once known as Saul, he experienced a profound conversion on the road to Damascus and transformed into one of Christianity’s greatest missionaries. Through his preaching, letters, and missionary journeys, St. Paul encouraged believers to remain steadfast in faith despite hardships and persecution.

The novena offers an opportunity for the faithful to reflect on the extraordinary lives of these two apostles who played a central role in the growth of the early Church. While St. Peter symbolises unwavering faith and pastoral leadership, St. Paul represents missionary zeal and fearless evangelisation. Together, they remain enduring examples of sacrifice, humility, perseverance, and commitment to the Gospel.
This novena is especially meaningful for fishermen, seafarers, missionaries, writers, evangelists, Church workers, and all those seeking strength and guidance in their spiritual lives. Through daily prayers and reflections, devotees are encouraged to renew their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and seek the intercession of St. Peter and St. Paul for peace, healing, protection, and spiritual growth.
As believers gather in prayer during these nine days, the lives of St. Peter and St. Paul serve as a reminder that God calls ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary missions. Their witness continues to inspire the faithful to live with courage, hope, and unwavering trust in God.
May this Novena to St. Peter and St. Paul draw hearts closer to Christ and inspire all who participate to become true witnesses of faith and love in today’s world.
