MCYO Felicitates Hureiyang Kameih on Joining ITBP as Assistant Commandant

Imphal, June 3, 2026: The Manipur Catholic Youth Organisation (MCYO) has extended its congratulations to Hureiyang Kameih of Phalong Village in Tamenglong District following his commissioning as an Assistant Commandant in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on May 31, 2026.


Kameih secured the prestigious position after successfully clearing the UPSC Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandant) Examination, 2023. He is currently serving in Leh, Ladakh.


In a statement, MCYO described his achievement as a proud moment for the Catholic community and an inspiring example for young people aspiring to build careers in public service through dedication and perseverance.


Kameih completed his schooling at Don Bosco School, Tamenglong, before pursuing higher secondary studies at Seven Set Annexe Higher Secondary School, Shillong. He later graduated from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong.


His success follows years of determined preparation. Between 2018 and 2023, he spent five years in Delhi preparing for several competitive examinations, including the UPSC CAPF (Assistant Commandant), UPSC Combined Defence Services (CDS), SSC CGL and ICAR examinations. During this period, he also worked for a year as a Technician at the ICAR–Central Potato Research Institute (ICAR-CPRI), Shillong.


Reflecting on his journey, Kameih said that success is achieved through hard work, dedication and integrity. He described it as an ongoing process of growth, learning and contributing meaningfully through one’s work.


Speaking about the importance of faith in his life, he noted that faith in God has been the foundation of his journey, providing guidance and strength while complementing sustained effort and perseverance.


MCYO commended Kameih’s accomplishment and expressed hope that his example would motivate Catholic youth to pursue excellence in their chosen fields. The organisation also wished him God’s blessings and success in his future service and responsibilities.
