Malpe, Karnataka, Sept. 10: The Jubilee of the Differently Abled was celebrated on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at St. Anne Church, Thottam, Malpe, with over 700 parishioners in attendance. The event, organised by the parish, aimed to honour and support differently abled parishioners through prayer, recognition, and community participation.
The celebration began with Eucharistic Adoration, followed by a solemn Holy Eucharist offered for the intentions of the differently abled parishioners. After the Mass, the parish community felicitated the differently abled individuals with shawls and mementoes as tokens of appreciation and love.
A highlight of the event was the recognition of Master Kiran Rahul Fernandes, a young parishioner who has earned national acclaim by winning medals in volleyball, javelin, and other events at the Para National Games
Addressing the gathering, Parish Priest Fr. Denis D’Sa urged the faithful to walk alongside the differently abled with prayerful support and to value the sacrifices of parents and caregivers. He emphasised that such service requires “deep commitment and compassion”.
The program was graced by Mr. Leslie Arouza, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council; Mrs. Blecilla Crasta, Secretary; Mrs. Vanitha Fernandes, Coordinator; Sr. Sushma, Superior of the Convent; and Mr. Ronald Fernandes, Health Commission Coordinator, along with the families of the differently abled parishioners
The celebration concluded on a hopeful note as the congregation united in a hymn reaffirming God’s promise of unwavering love and care.
