Jesus Youth Retreat Encourages Students to Turn Faith into Everyday Acts of Service

BENGALURU, October 21, 2026: Helping students recognise their individuality, build confidence in their God-given gifts and put their faith into practice through service was the central outcome of a retreat conducted by the Jesus Youth team for Catholic students of Aradhana Academy, Bengaluru, on October 16.

Led by Livin Varghese, the retreat encouraged students to stop comparing themselves with others and understand that personal weaknesses and mistakes do not prevent spiritual growth. Instead, they were urged to use their unique talents, however small, to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Hosted by the academy, run by the Sisters Adorers of the Blood of Christ, the programme combined prayer, action songs, interactive games and reflections on the lives of saints, including St Francis of Assisi, St Carlo Acutis, St Alphonsa and St Teresa of Calcutta. Their examples highlighted how faith, humility and love can be expressed through everyday actions.

Bible passages, including Isaiah 41:10 and Romans 16:19, were introduced through music and movement to make Scripture engaging for the students.

Student reflections indicated that the message resonated with them. Aditi Sorcar of Class X A said the retreat encouraged her to embrace her individuality rather than imitate others. Sharon of Grade VII captured its central lesson: “I do not have to be someone else. God has created me uniquely, and I can use my own gifts, even the smallest ones, with love to make the world a better place.”

The retreat concluded with a priest’s blessing and the recitation of the Hail Mary. Its key takeaway was a call for students to grow in self-acceptance and translate their faith into practical acts of love and service.
