Bengaluru Parish Honours 125 Couples Celebrating 20–29 Years of Marriage

Robertsonpet KGF, October 21, 2026: St. Teresa’s Church in Robertsonpet, KGF Deanery, Archdiocese of Bangalore, honoured 125 married couples celebrating 20 to 29 years of marriage during a special celebration on 18 October, as part of the Archdiocese’s observance of 2026 as the ‘Married Couples Year’.

The celebration, held under the theme ‘Two Hearts, One Love, One Journey – United Together by God’s Grace’, aimed to recognise and strengthen the vocation of marriage and appreciate couples who have witnessed Christ’s love through their faithful married life.

The programme began with a welcome for the couples, followed by registration and a photo session. A solemn concelebrated Mass at 11 am formed the central part of the celebration.

Fr. Jerome Stanislaus, parish priest of St. Teresa’s Church, led the couples in renewing their marriage vows. During his homily, Fr. Simeon Sebastian, parish priest of Sacred Heart Church, Bangarpet, highlighted the importance of love, forgiveness and faith in sustaining marriage in Jesus Christ.

The couples exchanged garlands and received a special blessing invoking the Holy Spirit from Fr. Gilbert Raj, Dean of KGF and parish priest of Our Lady of Victory Church.

Following the Mass, the parish organised a felicitation programme to honour the couples. They received certificates of appreciation, personal photographs and gifts, commemorating their years of married life. The programme also recreated moments from their wedding celebrations.

Parishioners, family members and children participated enthusiastically, joining the couples in celebrating their commitment and offering their blessings.

The celebration highlighted marriage as a covenant with God and reaffirmed the importance of love, faithfulness and mutual understanding in sustaining family life. The event was organised under the guidance of Fr. Jerome Stanislaus, with the support of the parish council and parishioners.
