From the Pulpit to the Poor: Let us Pray for Priests’ Mission This Week

April 15, 2026: As we continue this 30-day prayer journey for priests, inspired by Pope Leo XIV’s call, we now enter Week 3 (April 15–22)—a time to pray specifically for the mission of priests.

This week, you are invited to walk closely with priests in their daily responsibilities—their preaching, leadership, service, and quiet sacrifices that often go unnoticed. Every homily you hear, every confession you make, every Mass you attend is part of a priest’s mission. And behind it all is a man striving to remain faithful, often under pressure, fatigue, and spiritual struggle.

Week 3: Their Mission (April 15–22)

Apr 15: Preaching and teaching

Pray: Prayer to the Holy Spirit (3 times) + Ask the intercession of Saints Peter & Paul while praying 1 decade of the Rosary

Apr 16: Youth ministry

Pray: Ask the intercession of St. Dominic Savio (or another young saint) while praying the Rosary

Apr 17: Service to the poor

Do: Help someone in need + Ask the intercession of St. Teresa of Calcutta while praying one decade of the Divine Mercy Chaplet

Apr 18: Leadership and decision-making

Pray: Psalm 23 + Ask the intercession of St. Pope John Paul II

Apr 19: Mission / persecuted priests

Pray: 1 Our Father + 3 Hail Mary + St. Michael’s Prayer + Offer them at Sunday Mass

Apr 20: Work stress and responsibilities

Do: Offer your day’s work for priests + Ask the intercession of St. Joseph while praying 1 decade of the Rosary

Apr 21: Elderly and retired priests

Pray: 1 decade of the Rosary + Psalm 71

Apr 22: Lukewarm priests

Do: Fast + Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet

This week, pause and think about the priests in your life. The one who baptized you. The one who listens patiently in confession. The one who shows up every day, even when it’s difficult. Your prayer matters more than you think.

Walk with them. Pray for them. Support them—quietly, faithfully, consistently. Share this with others and let us encourage more people to pray for our priests.
