Don Bosco College Maram Marks 25 years of Educational Service in Manipur

Maram, Manipur, September 26, 2026: Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, marked 25 years of educational service in Manipur with its Silver Jubilee celebration on September 26, focusing on the theme “Heritage to Horizons.”

The celebration brought together government leaders, Church authorities, college administrators, students and well-wishers to commemorate the institution’s journey and its contribution to education and society in the state.

Addressing the gathering, Manipur Chief Minister Khemchand Singh said education should go beyond the pursuit of academic qualifications and contribute to building a responsible and developed society.

Recalling Manipur’s history, the Chief Minister highlighted the contributions of the state’s 36 communities and stressed the importance of unity in preserving its collective strength. He said division could undermine the state’s potential for development.

The jubilee programme also highlighted Manipur’s cultural diversity, with students presenting traditional dances and songs conveying messages of peace, unity and environmental protection.

The State Government announced funding for a new Science Block at the college under the College Fagathansi Mission. It also announced an increase in the teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution.

Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, former Minister Francis Ngajokpa and Fr Joseph Pampackal SDB, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Dimapur, attended the celebration along with college authorities, Church leaders, students and other dignitaries.

A highlight of the programme was the unveiling of the Silver Jubilee commemorative stone and the release of the jubilee souvenir by Chief Minister Singh.

The celebration marked 25 years of Don Bosco College Maram’s educational ministry and renewed its commitment to forming young people and contributing to the development of Manipur.
