Hyderabad, March 9, 2026: Youth leaders from various dioceses across the Telugu-speaking region came together in Hyderabad for a two-day formation and leadership programme organised by the Telugu Catholic Bishops' Council (TCBC) Commission for Youth. The REXCO Live-In Programme, conducted under the Telugu Catholic Youth Movement (TCYM), was held on March 7–8 at Don Bosco Navajeevan in Ramanthapur, Hyderabad.
The initiative sought to deepen spiritual formation, foster collaboration among youth leaders, and strengthen leadership in youth ministry. The programme was held under the guidance of Bishop Vijaya Kumar Rayarala of the Diocese of Srikakulam, chairman of the TCBC Commission for Youth, and was coordinated by Fr. Medi Sleevaraj, the regional youth director.
The gathering began with the recitation of the Holy Rosary and Eucharistic Adoration, creating an atmosphere of prayer and reflection. This was followed by diocese-wise presentations by youth leaders, who shared updates on youth ministry initiatives and pastoral experiences from their respective dioceses.
A solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Rayarala highlighted the spiritual dimension of the programme. In his homily, the bishop encouraged the young leaders to dream boldly for the future while remaining firmly rooted in their Christian faith and commitment to the Church.
Formation sessions were conducted by Fr. Miriala Kishore, Mrs. Vandana, and Sr. Prameela. The speakers addressed key themes such as the challenges faced by youth today, the formative role of the family in personal growth, and the importance of teamwork and visionary leadership in strengthening youth ministry within the Church.
During the programme, the REXCO team felicitated Bishop Rayarala on his recent election as vice-president of the Telugu Catholic Bishops' Council. The occasion also witnessed the official release of the youth magazine Yuvajwala, with Mr. Sandeep announced as its new co-editor.
The event also featured a REXCO Council meeting led by Fr. Sleevaraj, offering youth representatives an opportunity to deliberate on future initiatives and enhance coordination among diocesan youth ministries. The live-in programme concluded with a renewed commitment among participants to serve the Church with dedication and to strengthen the mission of youth ministry across the region.
