Udupi diocese Youth Gather for Action-Packed Yuvaura 2026 in Kundapur

Kundapur, Karnataka, April 16, 2026 : A vibrant display of athleticism, discipline, and youthful enthusiasm marked Yuvaura 2026, the diocese-level sports meet of the Udupi dioceses, held on April 12 at Gandhi Maidaan in Kundapur, bringing together participants from all five deaneries.

Organised by the Kundapur Deanery, the event witnessed spirited participation as young athletes competed across a wide range of track and field events. Races spanning 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m tested speed and endurance, while field events such as shot put, long jump, high jump, discus throw, and javelin throw highlighted strength and skill.

The meet also featured a series of group competitions that fostered teamwork and camaraderie. Volleyball, throwball, tug of war, and the 4x100m relay added a dynamic dimension to the event, encouraging collective effort alongside individual excellence.

Demonstrating remarkable consistency across categories, the Udupi Deanery emerged as overall champions. The Shirva Deanery secured the runners-up position following a commendable performance.

The smooth and timely conduct of the sports meet was widely attributed to the dedicated efforts of the ICYM Kundapur Deanery, whose meticulous planning ensured efficient coordination throughout the day.

More than a competition, Yuvaura 2026 stood as a celebration of youth engagement within the dioceses, promoting unity, discipline, and the enduring spirit of sportsmanship among young people.
