Novena to the Saint of “Impossible Causes” (St. Rita) Begins Today!

May 13, 2026: Have you ever prayed for a person's conversion? Waited years for healing in a broken family? Wondered if God could still bring hope amidst an impossible situation?

St. Rita of Cascia did all of these! Her life was marked by suffering, forgiveness, and extraordinary faith. Married to a violent husband, she endured years of hardship but never stopped praying for his conversion. Her prayers eventually touched his heart, and before his death, he reconciled with God and changed his ways.

After he was murdered, Rita’s two sons were consumed by anger and wanted revenge. Fearing that hatred would destroy their souls, Rita prayed that they would choose forgiveness over violence. Tradition says both sons later sought God’s mercy before they died, sparing them from a life of vengeance.

One of the most beloved signs associated with St. Rita is the miracle of the rose. Near the end of her life, while she was ill in winter, a cousin visited her. Rita asked for a rose from her old garden. Though it was the middle of winter, a single rose was found blooming — a symbol that God can bring hope and grace even in impossible seasons.

As we pray, let us remember that no wound, broken family, or seemingly hopeless situation is beyond God’s grace. Share this with someone who may be waiting for a miracle, healing, or an answered prayer.
