NISCORT Organizes National Media Conference: Calls for ‘Solution-Based Journalism’ to Build a Prosperous Bharat

Ghaziabad, April 25, 2026: NISCORT Media College, in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris, hosted the Fourth National Media Conference 2026, bringing together academicians, journalists, media professionals, and spiritual leaders to reflect on the constructive role of journalism in nation-building.

The conference, held in Ghaziabad, revolved around the theme “Solution Based Media for a Prosperous Bharat.” It emphasized the urgent need for journalism to move beyond merely reporting problems and instead highlight solutions that inspire progress, responsibility, and hope in society.

Inaugurating the conference, Bishop Rayarala Vijaya Kumar underscored the importance of Solution-Based Journalism (SoJo), describing it as a balanced approach that blends realism with hope. He urged media practitioners to uphold ethical values, critical thinking, and accuracy, while reminding students and researchers of their responsibility in nation-building and safeguarding constitutional principles.

Addressing the gathering, BK Sushant highlighted that many of society’s challenges stem from declining human values, a reality increasingly reflected in news reporting. He stressed that solution-oriented journalism, rooted in compassion and responsibility, can play a transformative role in restoring harmony and promoting a more balanced society.

Fr Robinson Rodrigues noted that in a world marked by division, conflict, and mistrust, Solution-Based Journalism has the potential to bridge gaps and foster peace. He emphasized that media, when guided by truth and purpose, can become a powerful instrument for unity and understanding.

The conference featured participation from distinguished personalities including Dr Ritu Dubey Tiwari, BK Sunita, BK Lovely, and BK Ganesh Joshi, among others, who contributed valuable insights to the discussions.

Held across two sessions, the conference included 15 research paper presentations by scholars and journalists. Topics explored ranged from ethical reporting and emerging digital media trends to the growing impact of solution-oriented storytelling in shaping public perception and community development.

The event concluded with an award distribution ceremony recognizing notable contributions to media research and practice. Delivering the valedictory address, Prof Ravi Narayan Kar encouraged media professionals to balance critical reporting with constructive narratives that inspire meaningful change.

Participants also engaged in discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions aimed at bridging academic insights with industry practices, while drawing on spiritual perspectives to promote value-based journalism.

The conference concluded with a renewed vision—affirming that journalism, when practiced with integrity, responsibility, and a solution-oriented approach, can become a powerful force for positive transformation, contributing to the building of a stronger, more compassionate, and prosperous India.
