NextGen Digital: ICYM Udupi Organises PRO Training Programme

Udupi, 4 March, 2025 – The Indian Catholic Youth Movement, Diocese of Udupi, organised 'NextGen Digital, a half-day training programme for Public Relations Officers on 16 February at Anugraha Pastoral Centre. The event began with an inaugural Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Steven Fernandes, Diocesan Youth Director, and saw the participation of approximately 40 PROs from across the diocese.

Rev. Fr. Anil Fernandes, Director of the Canara Communication Centre, Mangalore, led the training, which covered various aspects of public relations, including PR roles, media engagement, crisis management, news writing, and the use of AI tools for content creation. He also introduced platforms such as Leonardo, Freepik, Canva, and the Catholic Connect app for effective digital media management.  

The programme equipped PROs with practical skills in media communication, AI tools, and crisis management, enhancing their ability to manage PR responsibilities effectively.
