Jharsuguda, Odisha, June, 28, 2025: The Odisha Regional Youth Commission successfully hosted its 11th Regional Youth Leadership Training Programme from 15th to 18th June at the Utkal Jyoti Pastoral Centre in Jharsuguda, Odisha, drawing 120 enthusiastic youth leaders under the theme, “Servant Leadership – Empowering Young Leaders to Serve.”
As part of efforts to strengthen youth leadership and regional formation, NEXCO representatives Apurva Xess (Chhattisgarh Region), Snel Ekka (Jharkhand Region), and Biraj Bera (Odisha Region) visited the programme.
Over four days, participants engaged in a series of well-structured sessions aimed at developing emotional maturity, spiritual depth, leadership identity, and constitutional awareness. Renowned resource persons—including Fr. Chetan Machado, Fr. Linus Lakra, Sr. Tracy from Excellence Academy, and Sr. Clara D’Souza, Advocate—shared valuable insights addressing the challenges and opportunities facing today’s youth.
A special session led by the visiting NEXCOs explored ICYM’s motto, mission, structure, and vision, enabling participants to better understand their roles within the Church and how they can contribute actively to its life and mission.
The programme provided a transformative space for dialogue, reflection, and empowerment, fostering a spirit of servant leadership, community bonding, and Gospel-rooted action. Organisers said the event affirmed the youth as “not just the future, but the now of the Church.”
