Nalgonda Diocese Youth Convention Inspires Young People to Build Their Lives on Christ

Telangana, May 19, 2026: Young Catholics from across the Diocese of Nalgonda gathered at St. Peter’s Church for a four-day Youth Convention that called participants to pursue holiness and take an active role in shaping the future of the Church.

Held from May 17 to 20 in a synodal spirit, the convention brought together more than 250 youth representing 69 parishes of the diocese. The programme was organised under the guidance of Bishop K. Dhaman Kumar in collaboration with Fiat Mission led by Dr. Banda Suman and the Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate.

The participants were accommodated at the parish under the pastoral care of Fr. M. Jeevan, Fr. Arun and Fr. Shanthi Reddy.

The convention commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop Dhaman Kumar, who urged the youth to identify themselves with Christ and lead lives rooted in holiness and integrity. Addressing the gathering, the Bishop described young people as “the future of the Church and the power-house of the Nalgonda Diocese.”

Encouraging them to remain steadfast in faith and their careers, he called upon the youth to resist “the snares of vice and malice” and to build their lives on strong Christian values.

“He urged them to root their lives in Christ, to cultivate holiness, and to prepare themselves to be a resilient and faithful Church in the years ahead,” the organisers noted while reflecting on the Bishop’s message. He further entrusted the youth with the responsibility of shaping the future of the Church.

Throughout the convention, priests and religious sisters animated interactive sessions and action songs designed to engage participants and strengthen their spiritual journey.

Bringing together youth from across the diocese, the convention focused on strengthening faith, encouraging holiness and inspiring young people to take an active role in the future of the Church.
