Karwar Diocesan Seminarians Strengthen Vocation and Fraternity at Puneeth Sadan Gathering

Karwar, Karnataka, May 23, 2026: A spirit of prayer, fraternity and vocational renewal marked the Karwar Diocesan Seminarians’ Gathering held at Puneeth Sadan, Shirwad, from May 21–22, bringing together 20 seminarians from both minor and major seminaries for two days of spiritual formation and fellowship.

The gathering commenced with the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Eucharistic Adoration led by Rector Fr. John Rodrigues, setting a reflective tone for the programme.

The Holy Eucharist was celebrated by Bishop Duming Dias along with the seminary formators and the diocesan vocation promoter. Addressing the seminarians, the bishop encouraged them to remain steadfast in their call to priesthood and deepen their commitment to Christ and the Church.

As part of the formation sessions, Fr. Ignatius D’Souza delivered a talk on priestly vocation, inspiring the participants to embrace their journey with faith, dedication and perseverance.

A sharing session formed an important part of the programme, allowing seminarians to reflect on their experiences during holiday ministry, parish assignments and the propedeutic year. The interaction fostered mutual learning, spiritual encouragement and stronger bonds of fraternity among the participants.

The seminarians were also addressed by Vicar General Fr. Richard Rodrigues, while diocesan leaders offered words of motivation and support for their ongoing formation.

The two-day programme concluded with recreational activities, fellowship and community interaction, followed by the Angelus and a shared meal. Participants departed spiritually enriched and strengthened in their vocation and unity as future ministers of the Church.
