Belagavi, July 3, 2026: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has accepted an invitation to attend the 170th anniversary celebrations of St. Paul's High School, Camp, Belagavi, one of North Karnataka's oldest and most respected educational institutions. The celebrations are scheduled to be held in December 2026.
The invitation was extended by Fr. Eric Mathias, SJ, Principal of St. Paul's High School, and Fr. Daniel Fernandes during a meeting with the Chief Minister.
During the interaction, Fr. Eric highlighted the school's 170-year legacy of academic excellence and its Jesuit tradition of forming "men and women for others." He also outlined the institution's contribution to society through generations of alumni who have distinguished themselves in various fields across Karnataka and beyond.
Accepting the invitation, Chief Minister Shivakumar commended the institution for its longstanding commitment to quality education, character formation and service to society. He also conveyed his best wishes for the successful celebration of the school's milestone anniversary.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of educational institutions and public leaders to promoting academic excellence and nation-building through value-based education.
The 170th anniversary celebrations, scheduled for December, are expected to bring together distinguished alumni, educators, students, public representatives and well-wishers to commemorate the rich heritage and enduring legacy of St. Paul's High School, which has served generations of students in North Karnataka for nearly two centuries.
