Jabalpur Diocese Hosts Training on Evangelii Nuntiandi and Jubilee 2025

Jabalpur, 3 October 2025 – The Diocese of Jabalpur held a two-part training programme on Evangelii Nuntiandi and Jubilee 2025, in Mandla on 29 September and Jabalpur on 30 September, bringing together clergy, religious, catechists, and lay representatives to ignite missionary zeal and prepare for the Church’s upcoming jubilee celebrations.

The sessions, strategically timed with the Golden Jubilee of Evangelii Nuntiandi and the imminent Jubilee 2025, drew broad participation. A total of 445 people attended—245 in Mandla, representing three deaneries, and 200 in Jabalpur, representing another three deaneries. Each parish sent five lay representatives alongside clergy, religious, and catechists, ensuring a true cross-section of the local Church.

The training was led by Fr. Raju Mathew, who delivered the main presentations, and Mr. Yogendra Kumar of the Suvarta Team, who guided the dynamic animations and group interactions. The solemn Holy Eucharist, presided over by Bishop Valan Arasu of Jabalpur, was the spiritual highlight of the events.

The core aim of the programme was spiritual and missionary renewal, anchored in Pope Paul VI’s Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Nuntiandi. A significant focus was also given to preparing the faithful for Jubilee 2025 under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope,” encouraging deeper engagement with Mission Month and World Mission Sunday.

Fr. Mathew’s presentations combined theological depth with practical insights on mission, while Mr. Kumar’s sessions added energy through group dynamics and animations. Together, they ensured a balance of intellectual rigour and spiritual formation.

Special gratitude was expressed to Rev. Fr. Joseph Periapuram, Chair of the Commission for Proclamation and Evangelisation, Fr. Christuraj, the Commission’s Secretary, and the entire Commission for their dedicated efforts in organising the programme.
