Jabalpur, 23 May 2025: The Jabalpur Diocesan Youth Commission (JDYC) organised a three-day AI and Media Communications Summer Camp from 19th to 21st May 2025 at St. Aloysius School, Sadar, Jabalpur. The camp aimed to empower youth with digital skills, creative expression, and responsible media use. Held over three days, it drew enthusiastic participation from young minds eager to learn and explore.
Day 1 began with prayer and praise, setting a spiritual foundation. JDYC members introduced participants to the world of media communication through engaging discussions. Fr Thomas Antony O. Praem, Director of Media and Communication of the Diocese of Jabalpur, delivered a session on social media and content writing, encouraging participants to write original content and turn it into videos as homework. The day concluded with a joyful prayer dance and breakfast.
Day 2 continued with prayer, an action song, and a creative poem-writing activity that fostered self-expression. Participants then presented their video assignments. Fr Thomas conducted insightful sessions on photography and videography, teaching practical techniques involving angles, lighting, and editing. A hands-on photo activity followed, and participants were tasked with creating a short video using their new videography skills.
On Day 3, participants were introduced to the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence in media. Fr Thomas demonstrated AI tools for study, poster creation, video generation, and branding. Participants applied this knowledge in a group activity, using AI tools to create and present digital content. The camp concluded with thanksgiving, appreciation for all efforts, and a shared breakfast, leaving participants inspired and equipped to engage with media meaningfully.
We thank Fr Pradeep Rodrigues, the Diocesan Youth Director, for arranging this camp.
