How the Daily Rosary Led her Hindu Husband to Jesus

Nagpur, October 22, 2025: In a moving testimony of faith and perseverance, Sunita Amisha, a member of St. Anthony’s Church, shared her remarkable spiritual journey and how steadfast prayer brought her husband, Kiran Paul, to embrace Christianity.

“I came into the Christian faith nearly sixteen years ago,” Sunita began, recounting her early years as a believer. “Among the two of us, I was the first to come to Christ.” But the path to shared faith was not easy. The couple faced deep struggles and differences in their spiritual lives.

“My husband was associated with Shiv Sena,” she recalled. “He would sit among people whose beliefs were very different from mine. Sometimes he had to hear remarks about me, and people would say that my wife is under my control because of my faith.” Despite this, Sunita never allowed discouragement to take root.

Her faith remained unshaken. “My struggle certainly continued, but I never wavered. I constantly prayed to Mother Mary and offered all my struggles to the Lord through her,” she said. Each day, she prayed the Rosary with a single plea: “Please attract my husband towards You. Help him to recognise the true God and accept Lord Jesus as his Saviour.”

Sunita’s devotion bore fruit slowly but surely. “After 2020, I began to see changes in my husband’s life. I noticed a gentle inclination in him towards Mother Mary,” she shared. Although there were times she saw no visible results and felt weak, her prayers became her source of strength.

Encouraged by faith, she prayed with renewed vigour. “By the end of 2023, my husband himself expressed a desire that we should start attending Mass together,” she said, her eyes lighting up as she recalled the moment. “Earlier, whenever I invited him for Mass—especially during festivals like Christmas—he used to refuse. But this time, he said on his own, ‘We will go together.’”

That moment marked a turning point. “We both attended Mass together, and from then on, he began joining me regularly. He also started praying with me,” she said. The couple began praying the Rosary together, even when work kept them apart. “My husband’s job requires him to travel at least twelve days a month, but even then, we make sure to call each other and pray the Rosary together wherever we are.”

Their shared faith deepened with time, culminating in a joyous milestone. “On 29 May 2025, my husband received baptism,” Sunita said. “Now we walk together in the same faith, worship together, support each other, and continue to grow in the Lord.”

Expressing gratitude, Sunita concluded, “This is my testimony. I thank the Nagpur Archdiocesan Media Team for giving me the opportunity to share it.”

Her story stands as a testament to unyielding prayer, faith, and the quiet power of love that leads hearts to transformation.
