Goa Church Expresses Deep Grief Following Tragic Arpora Fire

Panjim, 10 December 2025 : A catastrophic fire in Arpora on Sunday night has claimed at least 23 lives, leaving the state in deep shock and grief. In the wake of the tragedy, the Archbishop of Goa and Daman, the Auxiliary Bishop, and the Church leadership have extended heartfelt condolences to the families who lost their loved ones.

In a statement issued by the diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media, the Church described the incident as profoundly distressing and assured the bereaved of its prayers, asking God to grant them comfort, strength and healing during this time of immense grief. The message also extended prayers for those injured in the fire and for all individuals personally impacted by the calamity.
