Faithful Gather in Bhopal for Three-Day Bible Mahotsav

Bhopal, 4 October 2025: Thousands of faithful came together for the Bible Mahotsav 2025, a three-day spiritual celebration held from 30 September to 2 October in the Archdiocese of Bhopal. Guided by the Archbishop and animated through the collaboration of priests, religious, and lay faithful, the annual gathering sought to honour the centrality of the Word of God and inspire a renewed spirit of Christian fellowship.

Centred on the theme of fostering love for Scripture, deepening faith, and strengthening unity, the Mahotsav combined fervent prayer, powerful preaching, worship, and fraternity. Rev. Fr. Jeevan K.D. and his team led the event with dynamic preaching, joyful worship, and testimonies that challenged participants to root their lives in Scripture and bear witness to Christ in daily life.

The inauguration included a Bible procession, during which the Holy Scriptures were carried reverently amidst hymns, symbolising the living presence of God’s Word guiding the Church. The session comprised thanksgiving, reflection, songs, prayers, and preaching, with the faithful actively participating and reflecting on the transforming power of God’s Word in daily Christian living.

The Sacrament of Confession drew long queues of participants seeking reconciliation and healing. The Mahotsav also offered opportunities for spiritual enrichment through homilies, worship sessions, and fellowship. A highlight of the final day was the Thanksgiving Mass marking the Silver Jubilee of Bhopal Archdiocesan priests, celebrated in gratitude for 25 years of priestly ministry. The occasion united clergy and faithful in prayer for the jubilarians and for new vocations within the Archdiocese.

Bible Mahotsav 2025 stood as a testimony to the Archdiocese of Bhopal’s commitment to its mission: “Nourished by Christ, Sent to Serve.” The faithful departed with hearts filled with gratitude and a renewed commitment to carry the Word of God into their families, parishes, and communities.
