Don Bosco, Panjim Student Inspires Compassion Through The "Kindness Chain Challenge"

As the world stepped into 2025, Mario Pimenta, a 20-year-old influencer from Goa, kicked off the New Year by launching an inspiring initiative—the Kindness Chain Challenge. Designed to promote a spirit of compassion in society, this challenge encourages individuals to perform an act of kindness and urges recipients to “pay it forward” by helping three others. The resulting ripple effect, Mario hopes, will create a wave of unity, compassion, and support throughout Goa.

A Rising Star from Loutolim

A native of the quaint village of Loutolim in South Goa, Mario is currently pursuing his final year in Mass Communication and Media studies at Don Bosco College, Panjim. His academic journey is marked by numerous accolades, including published articles and participation in esteemed media and film festivals. He was also the media coordinator for Goa's first intercollegiate media event, "FilmBuster."

Overcoming Challenges and Finding His Voice

Mario's journey as an influencer and content creator began in 2022. He took to content creation to channel his emotions after losing his father that year. He initially started making videos to share his feelings with others. Gradually, he started making videos of him dancing to popular songs as well as videos of him participating in various events in Goa.

The Kindness Chain Challenge: A Vision for Unity

The Kindness Chain Challenge, launched by Mario on January 1, 2025, aims to inspire individuals to adopt kindness as a New Year’s resolution. Participants are encouraged to perform a kind act, share their stories on Instagram, and motivate others to continue the chain.

“The idea is simple: take a step forward so that someone else may take a step forward when they need it the most,” Mario shared. He believes that by fostering a network of kindness, the community can grow stronger and more united.

Inspirations and Future Aspirations

Mario’s journey as an influencer was born from personal pain. His drive for content creation comes from a desire to share his emotions and connect with others.

Among his favorite influencers are fellow Goan creators Rudra Avatar and Kuku Shirodkar, as well as international sensation Mr. Beast, known for his philanthropic endeavors.

Looking to the future, Mario is keeping his options open. “Maybe I will venture into content creation full-time and become an influencer. Or, maybe I’ll work in PR,” he said, reflecting his versatile ambitions.

A Message to the Youth of Goa

Mario shares a powerful message for young Goans: “Just be yourself, be bold, and try to help as many people as possible. Because the good that you do to others often comes back to you. Also, always make sure to do what your heart tells you.”

Through the Kindness Chain Challenge, Mario Pimenta is building a community grounded in empathy and support. His vision serves as an inspiration for all, reminding us that even small acts of kindness can create a lasting impact.
