Hyderabad, August 10, 2025 : The Don Bosco Job Placement Network India successfully hosted a large-scale Job Mela at St. Mary’s High School, Secunderabad, connecting job seekers with a wide range of potential employers. The event brought together over 45 companies from diverse sectors, including IT/BPO, Banking and Finance, Design, and Construction, and attracted nearly 300 participants in search of employment opportunities and career guidance.
The occasion was graced by several dignitaries, among them His Eminence Cardinal Anthony Poola, Mr. Deepak John, Chairman of the Telangana Christian Minorities Finance Corporation, Fr. Thomas Santiagu, Provincial Superior of the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), Fr. Yeruva Bala Showry, Vicar General, Fr. Guvvala Anthony, Secretary of HAES, Fr. Innaiah, Treasurer of HAES, and Fr. Justin SDB.
Addressing the gathering, Cardinal Anthony Poola praised the initiative for bridging the gap between job seekers and employers, underlining the Church’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and economic growth. He remarked, “As Pope Francis says, the youth is the future of the Church and our nation. We should accompany our youth in their lives, career guidance, and goals so they can grow to their full potential.”
The Job Mela provided a platform for representatives from participating companies to conduct on-the-spot interviews, career counselling sessions, and recruitment drives, enabling candidates to present their skills and secure job offers directly.
Fr. Thomas Santiagu SDB highlighted the broader vision behind the initiative, stating, “This Job Mela is not just about job placements—it is about giving hope, direction, and opportunities to young people.”
The event was marked by a spirit of collaboration and service, as organisers worked closely with corporate partners and volunteers to ensure smooth operations and meaningful engagement between candidates and employers.
Expressing their appreciation, the organisers extended heartfelt thanks to all dignitaries, participating companies, and volunteers for their invaluable contributions, which played a key role in the success of the Job Mela.
The programme underscored the Don Bosco Job Placement Network’s mission to support young people in building sustainable careers, reinforcing the belief that empowering the youth with opportunities today is an investment in a stronger future for both the Church and the nation.
