Digboi, Assam, March 10, 2026: In an effort to encourage young people to take an active role in their personal growth and parish life, Digboi Parish organised a youth orientation and career guidance programme on March 8. The initiative aimed to support young people in their personal and professional development while also initiating the formation of a Parish Youth Team.
The programme was animated by Fr. John Minj, Diocesan Youth Director (DYD), along with members of his youth ministry team. The gathering began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, during which special prayers were offered for the youth and for the future initiatives of the parish.
In his message, Fr. Minj encouraged young people to take an active role in the life and mission of the Church. He emphasised the importance of nurturing leadership qualities and using their talents for the good of the community.
Following the Mass, participants attended an interactive session on career guidance and motivation. The session invited young people to reflect on their aspirations, responsibilities and the importance of education in shaping their future. They were encouraged to pursue their studies and career goals with commitment while remaining grounded in faith and service to society.
As part of the programme, steps were also taken towards forming a Parish Youth Team that will coordinate youth activities and strengthen youth participation in parish life. The initiative seeks to provide a structured platform for young people to engage more actively in pastoral and social initiatives within the parish.
The orientation programme concluded with renewed enthusiasm among participants, inspiring them to take greater responsibility in shaping their future and contributing meaningfully to the Church and society.
