Chennai, March 6, 2026: Determination and perseverance were at the centre of a celebration at the JD Academy of Excellence (JDAX), an initiative of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Madras–Mylapore, where a young aspirant’s success in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission examination was recognised as a sign of hope and inclusion.
During a special programme held on March 5 in Chennai, the academy honoured Ms. Abisha S, who successfully cleared the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Group IV Examination and secured appointment as a Typist in the Revenue Administration Department of the state government.
Abisha, a person with disability, shared that she never allowed her physical challenges to define her future. Reflecting on her journey, she said the achievement marks only the beginning of her aspirations, expressing her determination to continue preparing for higher-level government examinations in the years ahead.
Felicitating her on the occasion, Archbishop George Antonysamy congratulated the young achiever and praised her courage and perseverance. The Archbishop noted that her success reflects the mission of the academy to empower young people—especially those from marginalised backgrounds—to realise their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
The programme also featured a guest lecture by Archana Yedanapalli, Managing Partner of Urbanascence LLP and Chair of the Thalir Vertical at Young Indians Chennai. Addressing aspirants preparing for civil service examinations, she spoke about the importance of disability inclusion in India, stressing that genuine social change requires not only laws and policies but also empathy and awareness among future public servants.
Participants preparing for competitive examinations such as the Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination and TNPSC exams were encouraged to cultivate sensitivity toward the challenges faced by persons with disabilities and to work towards building a more inclusive society.
The celebration of Abisha’s success reflected the broader vision of JDAX—to create opportunities for determined individuals to pursue their dreams and to inspire others through their achievements. Her accomplishment, organisers said, stands as a powerful reminder that resilience and faith can overcome barriers and open new pathways for service and leadership.
JDAX Registrations are open from February to April 2026, with scholarship interviews in April and classes commencing July 3, 2026.
