The meeting brings together the Metropolitan Archbishops and Bishops who serve as chairmen of the various commissions, departments and apostolates of the CCBI. The gathering provides an important platform for the Church’s leadership to review ongoing activities, deliberate on emerging concerns and take decisions concerning the life and mission of the Church in India.

The Executive Committee meets twice a year, in May and September, in addition to the CCBI’s Plenary Assembly held annually in January.

During the two-day meeting, the bishops are discussing and deliberating on various issues and concerns affecting the Church and its pastoral mission across the country. The committee also reviews the work of the different commissions, departments and apostolates and considers matters requiring coordinated action and guidance.

The 100th meeting marks a significant milestone in the history of the CCBI’s Executive Committee, reflecting its continued role in facilitating consultation, coordination and timely decision-making within the Church in India.

The deliberations are expected to result in timely decisions and concrete directions on matters concerning the Church’s pastoral, social and evangelising mission.
