Bangalore, September 2, 2025: In an effort to strengthen digital evangelisation, Catholic Connect, an initiative of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CCBI) and India’s leading digital Catholic platforms, was introduced to deacons in Bangalore. The session aimed to familiarise them with the app’s diverse features and encourage their active participation in sharing the Church’s message digitally.
Fr. Cyril Victor, of the National Media Apostolate, conducted an engaging media training, guiding deacons on effective ways to use digital tools for evangelisation and community engagement. Following this, Abhishek Joseph, General Manager of Catholic Connect, presented the platform’s wide-ranging offerings. These include Catholic news from the Vatican, India, and regional dioceses, as well as spiritual resources such as daily readings, prayers, daily reflections, and saint-of-the-day features.
He also highlighted practical services for the faithful, including the Catholic Connect Matrimony portal, Jobs portal, Health Insurance for clergy, and an Education portal. Features like My Parish and My Diocese help local communities stay connected, while business listings and advertisement options enable parishes and Catholic organisations to reach wider audiences.
Deacons were encouraged to actively engage with the platform, with an emphasis on how their participation can amplify the Church’s voice and foster stronger connections within their communities.
