Kolkata, October 8, 2025 – Over 500 children from the Archdiocese of Calcutta participated in a global Rosary prayer initiative on October 7 for world peace which was organised by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), a Pontifical foundation, contributing to ACN’s goal of one million children praying together.
The prayers were held across churches, schools, and private homes, coordinated by the Basic Ecclesial Communities (BEC). A “Joyous Rosary” prayer kit was distributed to organisers to facilitate the children’s Rosary events.
Archdiocese BEC Director, Fr. Dominic Gomes, lauded the initiative and the parishes’ enthusiastic participation, stating, “The Rosary holds immense power, and when children pray it together, it can transform the world.”
Inspired by St. Padre Pio’s belief that “when one million children pray the Rosary, the world will change,” this campaign has become a global spiritual movement, uniting schools, parishes, and families worldwide.
