Alpha Programme Renews Faith and Mission of Parish Leaders in Meghnagar

MEGHNAGAR, Jhabua, August 7, 2026: Twenty-four parish leaders of Meghnagar Parish in the Diocese of Jhabua gathered for a one-day Alpha programme on August 5, reflecting on faith, the search for meaning and their calling to serve the parish community.

The programme, built around Alpha’s three key elements—Connection, Content and Conversation—provided participants with an open and welcoming space to discuss questions of faith and life and to share their personal experiences.

The introductory session was led by Father Jomon, while Father Raju Mathew, director of Suvarta Kendra, Bhopal, conducted the main session. Using short video presentations and guided reflections, he invited the participants to examine the purpose of life, humanity’s search for meaning and the importance of cultivating a personal relationship with God.

The session also encouraged participants to reflect on the sense of inner emptiness that can persist even amid material comfort and security, pointing to the need for deeper spiritual fulfilment.

Small-group conversations became a central part of the programme, enabling the parish leaders to speak openly about their faith journeys, personal struggles and experiences of God. Prayer and music accompanied the gathering, with the music ministry led by Father Andrew and Father Mathiyas contributing to the reflective atmosphere.

The programme concluded with a prayer invoking the Holy Spirit upon the participants. The parish priest later expressed gratitude to the resource persons, organisers and participants for their contribution to the initiative.

The parish leaders described the gathering as a meaningful experience of personal encounter and spiritual renewal. They resolved to continue the initiative by organising Alpha programmes twice a month as part of their ongoing faith formation and service to the parish community.
