Youth Pasch 2026 Leads Goa’s Young Faithful into a Deep Encounter with the Paschal Mystery

Old Goa, April 9, 2026: In a spiritually enriching initiative during the most sacred period of the Church’s liturgical calendar, the Diocesan Youth Centre Goa organised its 38th edition of Youth Pasch from April 1 to 5 at the St. Joseph Vaz Spiritual Renewal Centre, drawing 50 young participants seeking a deeper connection with their faith.

Under the leadership of Fr. Blaise Lobo, Director of DYC-Goa, the programme sought to move beyond mere reflection, inviting participants into a lived encounter with the Paschal mystery.

Rooted in the spirituality of the Holy Triduum, the initiative focused on walking the life of Jesus, looking through olden times in the light of the Gospel and connecting it to modern times.

The five-day journey unfolded in stages, mirroring the key moments of the Paschal celebration. Beginning with Maundy Thursday, participants reflected on Christ’s model of selfless love. The experience deepened on Good Friday, with meditations centred on the suffering of Christ and the “deaths” we all must face.

The silence of Holy Saturday offered a space for introspection as youth were encouraged to confront and let go of fears, insecurities, sins and past attachments that held them back from their future calling. This period of interior reflection paved the way for the joyful celebration of Easter, where the focus shifted to the triumph of a new identity.

By the culmination of the programme, participants experienced the Gospel not as a distant narrative, but as a living reality with a new meaning. The initiative reaffirmed Youth Pasch as a spiritual cornerstone for the youngsters seeking a deeper connection with their faith during the most sacred days of the liturgical calendar.
