Youth Gather for Diocesan Youth Convention held in Bareilly, UP

Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, October 25, 2025 — The Diocesan Youth Convention – Jubilee 2025 was celebrated with immense zeal and devotion from 21st to 23rd October at St. Alphonsus Cathedral, Bareilly. Centred on the inspiring theme “Be a Witness,” the three-day gathering brought together 352 young people from various parishes across the Diocese to renew their faith and strengthen their commitment to Christian values.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Dr. Tanu Jain, CEO of the Bareilly Cantonment Board, as the Chief Guest, and Fr. Royal Anthony, Education Secretary of the Diocese, as the Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by several priests, religious sisters, and youth animators, who joined in supporting the young participants on their spiritual journey.

Throughout the convention, the youth engaged in enriching and motivational sessions led by dynamic speakers including Ms. Shilpa Ekka, Mr. Percival Holt, and Mr. Goodwill John. Their sessions inspired the participants to translate their faith into action, embrace leadership with purpose, and experience worship through music.

The evenings were alive with cultural performances, sessions of praise and worship, and joyful moments of fellowship that reflected the vibrant spirit of the young faithful.

A key highlight of the convention was the Holy Mass celebrated by Ignatius D’Souza, Bishop of Bareilly and Chairman of ICYM. In his homily, Bishop D’Souza encouraged the youth to “walk in the light and be true witnesses of faith,” reminding them of their vital role in building a more compassionate and faith-filled society.

The event concluded with a heartfelt valedictory session, during which expressions of gratitude were extended to all organisers, resource persons, animators, and volunteers for their dedicated efforts in making the convention a success.

The Diocesan Youth Convention – Jubilee 2025 proved to be a spiritually uplifting and transformative experience for all involved. It rekindled the spirit of faith, unity, and service among the young participants, empowering them to live courageously as true witnesses of Christ in today’s world.
