The recruitment comes as St. Aloysius Institutions continues a legacy that stretches back well over a century. The institution was founded in 1898 by foreign missionaries with a vision of providing quality education rooted in Christian values.
Over the decades, the institution steadily expanded its educational mission. The present Granell building was completed in 1914, followed by the establishment of the Pre-University College block in 1973. In 2008, the Archdiocesan Board of Education established St. Aloysius Degree College and Centre for Post-Graduate Studies, extending the institution’s commitment to higher education.
Today, the college remains dedicated to providing affordable and accessible education, particularly for minority communities and socio-economically disadvantaged students, while maintaining an inclusive and secular approach to learning.
Inspired by the life of its patron, St. Aloysius Gonzaga, the college seeks to develop graduates who combine academic excellence with social responsibility and moral integrity.
Its educational philosophy extends beyond classroom instruction, encouraging students to discover their talents, engage with society, develop leadership qualities and become "persons for others" through service to the wider community.
The institution's core values—compassion, inclusivity, innovation, collaboration and respect for diversity—are reflected across its academic and co-curricular programmes. Through research initiatives, extension activities and value-based education, the college prepares students to address both local and global challenges with confidence and conscience.
For educators seeking more than a teaching position, St. Aloysius Degree College offers an opportunity to contribute to a mission that has shaped generations of students in Bengaluru.
As the institution continues to strengthen its academic programmes and research initiatives, it remains committed to forming graduates who are intellectually capable, socially conscious and guided by the enduring values of the Catholic educational tradition.
With its rich heritage and forward-looking vision, the college continues to serve as a place where education becomes a pathway to personal growth, community service and nation building.
