Rashtra Vandana 2026 Unites Schools and Churches in Indore

INDORE, August 20, 2026: Patriotism, faith and cultural heritage took centre stage as six schools and five churches participated in Rashtra Vandana 2026, organised by the youth of Holy Spirit Church, Palda, Indore.


Held under the guidance of parish priest Fr. Raju Dodiyar, SVD, and coordinated by Mr. Jim Jacob, the programme brought young people together to express their love for the nation through music, dance and cultural performances.


Archbishop Leo Cornelio was the chief guest, while Fr. Sanjay Kujur, SVD, was the guest of honour. Air Veteran Dharmendra Singh Jhala attended as the special guest. The performances were evaluated by judges Sapna Vyas, O.P. Yadav and Gourav Gohar.


The programme opened with an introduction to the theme and purpose of Rashtra Vandana, followed by the National Song and ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolising knowledge, unity, hope and service. A prayer dance by the youth preceded the formal introduction of the guests and judges and the announcement of the competition guidelines.


In the School Category, six teams competed, presenting performances that highlighted creativity, coordination, discipline and patriotic spirit. Archbishop Leo Cornelio addressed the participants during the programme and encouraged them to cultivate love for the nation, unity, discipline and a spirit of service.


Holy Cross School won first place, followed by St. Arnold School, Palda, in second place and St. John's School, Chapda, in third.


The Church Category featured five participating churches, with teams presenting performances that blended faith, culture and patriotism. Fr. Sanjay Kujur, SVD, highlighted the importance of unity, values, discipline and responsible citizenship while commending the young performers.


St. Vincent Pallotti Church secured first place in the Church Category. Infant Jesus Church, Nandbagh, finished second, while St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral secured third place.


Addressing the gathering, Air Veteran Dharmendra Singh Jhala spoke about dedication, courage, service and patriotism, encouraging the youth to uphold these values in their lives. Fr. Raju Dodiyar, SVD, blessed the participants and appreciated the efforts of the organisers, judges, volunteers and participating institutions.


The winners were honoured with prizes and certificates during the concluding ceremony. All 11 participating teams were also recognised for their efforts and contribution to the programme.


Mr. Robin Jamra proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, judges, parish priest, participating schools and churches, performers, volunteers, organisers and supporters.


Rashtra Vandana 2026 provided a platform for young people from schools and churches to celebrate India's unity in diversity while fostering patriotism, cultural expression and fellowship. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
