Pope Leo XIV Urges Latin American Priests, Seminarians, and Religious to Proclaim Christ Clearly

Vatican City, 12 December 2025: Pope Leo XIV has issued an urgent call to Latin American priests, seminarians, and members of religious orders studying in Rome to witness to Christ with clarity and conviction in a world marked by confusion and noise.

Addressed specifically to those from Latin America engaged in formation or pastoral ministry in Rome, the message highlights the pressing need for disciples who place the primacy of Christ at the centre of their lives and ministry. Pope Leo XIV reminded them that contemporary society, saturated with distractions and conflicting voices, requires servants whose hearts and words reflect the clear voice of Christ.

In his message, the Pope encouraged recipients to remain faithful to their calling and to resist the temptation to reduce their mission to mere cultural or social activism. Instead, he underscored that their primary task is to announce “the absolute primacy of Christ” as the foundation of Christian identity and pastoral outreach.
