PentaQuest: Promptings for Pentecost 2025 ( Day 4: PASSION )

Key Verse: “Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord.” (Rom 12:11)

Reflection: The disciples, once touched by the Fire of Love, were ablaze with a passionate fire, which prompted them to share Christ’s Love, without fear, even to the point of martyrdom. Spiritual passion is about faithful endurance, with deep joy and optimism. Fervour fades when it’s self-fuelled; but when led by the Holy Spirit, we remain passionate and zealous, regardless of the circumstances of life.

• Do I make sure to be faithful to my personal spiritual practices so that I may always be a Spirit-filled person?

• What can I do to reignite someone else’s faith?

Quote from Early Church Fathers: “The flame of Divine Love kindled by the Spirit must not go out in us, but burn brighter day by day.” (St. Gregory the Great)

Prayer: O Holy Spirit, Spirit of fire, burn away my apathy and light a Holy Passion in me that endures, even amid the difficulties and challenges of life. Amen.
