Nagpur Archdiocese Trains 49 Catholic School Leaders in Administration and Supervision

NAGPUR, October 9, 2026: The Archdiocese of Nagpur organised a two-day leadership training programme for 49 vice principals and supervisors from Catholic schools across Vidarbha on October 7 and 8, focusing on strengthening school administration, academic supervision and staff coordination.

Held at Archbishop’s House in Nagpur, the programme was organised by RnR – Resource and Research Centre for Western Region to equip middle-level school leaders with the skills needed to translate institutional vision into effective educational management.

Archbishop Elias Gonsalves of Nagpur, founder of the resource centre, inaugurated the programme and delivered the keynote address. He highlighted the importance of middle-level leadership in implementing institutional goals and urged vice principals and supervisors to act as effective links between school management and staff.

The training sessions were conducted by Archbishop Gonsalves and a team of resource persons comprising Fr Prashant, Fr Joseph Koovely, Fr Joseph Polisetti and Fr Joselin.

The sessions addressed leadership qualities, academic supervision, student discipline, effective communication and value-based education. The practical inputs were designed to help participants address the everyday challenges of school administration and improve coordination within their institutions.

Fr Jeyaprakash, secretary of the Archdiocesan Board of Education, thanked Archbishop Gonsalves for initiating the programme, the resource persons for sharing their expertise, and the participants for their active involvement.

The programme left the participating school leaders with renewed motivation to strengthen their administrative capabilities and contribute more effectively to the academic and institutional development of their schools.
