A solemn Eucharistic Celebration set a deeply spiritual atmosphere. Fr. Suman Indwar SFX presided over the Mass, concelebrated by Fr. Innocent Fernandes SVD (Rector of SVD Seminary, Raia), Fr. Blaise Lobo (Director of DYC Goa), Fr. Cenyo Gonsalves, and Fr. Michael Pereira SVD (Coordinator of the Chotanagpur Youth Group, Goa).

The youth participated in a powerful session led by Fr. Cenyo Gonsalves, who addressed the theme: ‘Youth and Various Vices.’ He spoke with insight and empathy on the social and psychological struggles facing young people today, including addiction, peer pressure, and the distractions of the digital age. He urged them to remain vigilant, spiritually grounded, and to make deliberate choices that reflect their Christian values.

Lively activities filled the day, fostering joy, camaraderie, and healthy competition. The participants engaged in interactive games, animation songs, and team-building exercises that strengthened bonds and encouraged collaboration.

The cultural and creative segment showcased the youth’s talents through:

● A dance competition highlighting energy and unity

● Poster-making on the theme ‘Youth Are the Witnesses of Jesus’

● A slogan contest emphasising faith and purpose

● An open talent show where individuals and groups presented their gifts in song, creative work, fireless cooking, poetry, and other artistic expressions

Every event carried enthusiasm, creativity, and a profound spiritual message, reinforcing the theme of youth as strong witnesses to Christ’s message in today’s world.

Fr. Michael Pereira SVD, together with youth leaders, animated the gathering with uplifting songs and energising activities that sustained the celebratory spirit.

In his address, Fr. Blaise encouraged the youth to embrace their role as change-makers in the Church and society. Citing Pope Leo XVI, he reminded them that they are "the salt of the earth and the light of the world," and called on them to rise above mediocrity, live with integrity, and become messengers of hope in a fragmented world.

A prize distribution ceremony honoured the dedication, effort, and talent of the participants. Trophies and medals recognised the winners of the various competitions, creating moments of joy and appreciation.

Migrant Youth Day 2025 stood as a testament to the faith, energy, and potential of young people to live meaningfully, rooted in the Gospel. Through prayer, reflection, and joyful interaction, they were empowered to return to their communities as lights shining in the darkness and witnesses of Christ’s enduring love.
