Manipur Catholic Youth Retreat Draws Over 200 Young People

MANTRIPUKHRI, October 21, 2026: More than 200 young people gathered for four days of prayer, reflection and spiritual renewal at the Mega Youth Retreat organised by the Manipur Catholic Youth Organisation from October 16 to 19 at St Paul’s Retreat House, Mantripukhri.

Held under the theme “Come Away and Rest a While,” the retreat sought to deepen the participants’ faith and strengthen their relationship with Christ through spiritual reflections and fellowship.

Fr Thomas Arackal preached the retreat, guiding participants through reflections on faith and their Christian commitment. The gathering also brought together young people from different units of the organisation for prayer, sharing and spiritual growth.

The retreat culminated in a Holy Mass celebrated by Archbishop Linus Neli of Imphal. During the gathering, the Archbishop officially launched the organisation’s first-ever website, marking a new step in its efforts to connect with young people and strengthen its mission.

Fr Jacob Darsongam, director of the youth organisation, and Sr Mariyam Chothe Khiyang MSMHC, youth animator, accompanied the participants throughout the retreat, encouraging their spiritual development and involvement in the Church’s mission.

Following the Mass, the young people participated in a friendly match before sharing lunch and departing.

The four-day gathering strengthened fellowship among the participants and renewed their commitment to Christ and the mission of the Church.
