King of Spain Lends Personal Jet to Pope Leo After Technical Fault Grounds Papal Flight

In response, Spain's King Felipe VI offered his personal Falcon jet to ensure the Holy Father's safe return to Rome.

The Pope accepted the offer and completed the journey aboard the royal aircraft, bringing his six-day visit to Spain to a close.

The Apostolic Journey, which lasted from June 6 to 12, included visits to Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands. Throughout the trip, Pope Leo XIV met Church leaders, civil authorities, religious communities, and the faithful, emphasizing themes of evangelization, hope, and solidarity.

The unexpected travel disruption drew attention not only because it affected a papal journey but also because of the swift response from the Spanish monarchy.
