The seminar was organised by the Missionary Families of Christ India in collaboration with the Family Commission of the Diocese of Allahabad. It brought together Catholic families for talks, group discussions, prayer and spiritual reflection on the challenges confronting Christian families today.

Speakers Vijendra Kumar from Patna and Santosh Francis from Bengaluru stressed the importance of regular family prayer, unity, steadfast faith in Christ and active participation in parish life. Participants discussed the difficulties faced by families and shared experiences on ways to nurture their spiritual lives within the home.

Sessions on the second day focused on building faith and harmony through prayer, mutual respect and Christian values. George Joseph from Ludhiana, along with Elvis and Macleen Countinho from Goa, highlighted the responsibility of Catholic families to contribute to the wider parish community through church ministries and social outreach.

George Joseph also led a session preparing participants for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Eucharistic adoration offered participants time for prayer and reflection before the concluding Holy Mass.

During the Mass, Bishop Louis Mascarhenas of Allahabad spoke about his experiences of family life and acknowledged the changing circumstances and challenges confronting Catholic families in Kanpur. He also pointed to opportunities for families to strengthen their faith and witness within the diocese.

The Bishop reaffirmed the Diocese of Allahabad's commitment to promoting and strengthening Catholic family life. He appreciated the efforts of Fr. Stephen Manoj D’Souza, Director of the Family Commission, Noel George, Secretary, and the Missionary Families of Christ team for organising the seminar.

The seminar concluded with an emphasis on prayer, family unity and active participation in the life of the Church as essential elements of a vibrant Christian family amid contemporary challenges.
