Hyderabad Archdiocese Marks National Youth Sunday with 700 Young People

Hyderabad, August 27, 2026: Courage, faith and unity were at the centre of the National Youth Sunday 2026 celebration organised by the Youth Commission of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad, bringing together around 700 young people from various parishes.

Held under the theme “THARSEO – Take Courage. Christ Is With You,” the gathering featured a Eucharistic celebration, Eucharistic Adoration, a thematic talk, praise and worship, cultural programmes, a youth pledge and fellowship.

The celebration encouraged young people to face the challenges of daily life with courage and confidence in Christ’s presence. The gathering also highlighted the vitality of young people and their role in the life and mission of the Church.

The Youth Commission thanked parish priests, animators, youth and volunteers for their support and active participation in the programme.

The archdiocese has also been linking youth formation with opportunities in emerging technologies and career development. In May, a workshop on Cloud and Artificial Intelligence was organised to provide young participants with practical exposure to AI and cloud technologies.

Four participants from the workshop have since secured employment and received offer letters from reputed organisations. Three are from the Archdiocese of Hyderabad and one from the Archdiocese of Vizag.

The workshop included a motivational session by Joseph Sanjay, Director of Amy Cloud Services, who explained the growing application of artificial intelligence in sectors such as healthcare, education and business. He also highlighted the employment opportunities available to young people who develop skills in emerging technologies.

Following the response to the workshop, a larger seminar on artificial intelligence is being planned to help more young people develop skills relevant to future employment opportunities.

Career guidance has also formed part of the youth empowerment initiatives. Bernard Valentine, a career counsellor from Ark Overseas Edu, has been assisting students interested in overseas education with university and course selection, applications, tuition fees and living expenses, visa procedures and career prospects.

He also provides guidance on PhD programmes for engineering graduates with published research papers and information on government interest-free education loans. Through motivational and career-oriented sessions, he helps students assess opportunities and plan their educational pathways.

The initiatives reflect an effort to combine faith formation with education, career guidance and skill development, enabling Catholic youth to grow in their spiritual lives while preparing for opportunities in a rapidly changing employment landscape.
