Communio Mission Exposure Programme in Srikakulam Diocese Concludes Successfully

Srikakulam , August 27, 2026:The Communio Missionary Volunteers Mission Exposure Programme in the Diocese of Srikakulam concluded successfully on 24 August 2026, offering participants a meaningful experience of missionary life, pastoral service and faith-filled accompaniment.

A Journey of Faith and Mission

The programme brought together Communio Missionary Volunteers who were placed in different parish communities, including KD Jola Parish, Seethampeta and Shanti Nagar Parish. These communities are served by the Montfort Fathers and Jesuits. During their mission experience, the volunteers encountered local communities, participated in parish activities, prayed with the faithful and gained a deeper understanding of the joys and challenges of missionary life.

Experiencing the Church at the Grassroots

The Mission Exposure Programme became a journey of faith, encounter and transformation. Through their presence and service, the volunteers experienced the beauty of missionary discipleship among people living in rural and remote communities.

The volunteers were placed in mission communities as follows:

• KD Jola Parish: Apeksha and Anie
• Seethampeta: Anchal and Shyamala
• Shanti Nagar Parish: Pritam, Vijay and Stephen
• KD Jola Parish: Francis, Vinoj and John

The experience enabled the participants to move beyond simply observing missionary work and become part of the daily life of the communities they served.

Gratitude for Pastoral Support

The volunteers expressed heartfelt gratitude to Fr. Vijaya Kumar Rayarala, PIME, Bishop of Srikakulam, for warmly welcoming Communio and providing the opportunity to experience the missionary life of the diocese.

Special appreciation was also extended to Fr. Simon SJ for his welcome and accompaniment at Seethampeta, and to Fr. Victor Dias SMM and Fr. Kiran SMM for their generous support and missionary encouragement.

Communio also thanked the catechists whose local knowledge, friendship and guidance helped the volunteers connect meaningfully with the people and understand the realities of mission at the grassroots.

Renewed for the Mission of Christ

The hospitality, faith and generosity of parishioners, families, children and young people became an important part of the volunteers' experience. Prayer, fellowship, service and pastoral engagement enriched their understanding of the Church's missionary calling.

As the volunteers return from Srikakulam, they carry with them precious memories, a renewed missionary spirit and a deeper appreciation of the Church's mission.

The successful programme reflects Communio's commitment to building a missionary Church through prayer, solidarity and service.
