Jabalpur, September 15, 2025 – Holy Cross Church, VFJ, marked its Golden Jubilee on Sunday with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass and a vibrant cultural programme, celebrating fifty years of faith, unity, and service to the community. The jubilee year, which began on 14 September 2024, concluded with a day of prayer, joy, and festivity.
The Holy Mass was presided over by Dr. J. G. Valan Arasu, Bishop of Jabalpur, as the principal celebrant. He was joined by Arul Amalraj O. Praem, Abbot of the Norbertine Fathers, together with a large gathering of priests, religious, and faithful.
In preparation for the jubilee, the parish undertook major renovations. The newly designed altar and refurbished interiors now lend the church a renewed elegance and prayerful atmosphere. Administered by the Norbertine Fathers, the parish expressed deep gratitude for this transformation. Parish priest Fr. Bipin Kiro O. Praem thanked parishioners for their generosity and support, acknowledging their vital role in bringing about the changes.
After the liturgy, celebrations continued with a cultural programme that reflected the spirit of the parish community. Catechism students and parish youth performed songs, dances, and skits, showcasing their creativity in honour of the church’s milestone. A special documentary tracing the parish’s history and growth over five decades was also screened, evoking joy and pride among those present.
The Golden Jubilee celebration served as a testament to the enduring faith, unity, and devotion of the Holy Cross Church community. Parishioners rejoiced not only in the accomplishments of the past fifty years but also in the shared hope for the parish’s continued mission and growth in the years ahead.
