Aquem, 3 March, 2025: The annual feast of St. Sebastian, the patron saint of St. Sebastian Church, Aquem, was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on March 2, 2025. The festivities began with a series of spiritual preparations and community gatherings, commencing with the Parish Annual Adoration on February 16.
The solemn blessing on February 20 marked the official commencement of the feast-related events. Daily Novenas were held from February 21 onwards, drawing a large congregation of faithful devotees. Each day’s Novena services included the recitation of the litany and Eucharistic celebration, centered on the Jubilee theme as follows: Hope as Liberation, Hope as Restoration, Hope as Renewal, Hope in Suffering, Hope in Injustice, Hope in Exile, Hope for the Kingdom of God, Hope in the Resurrection and Hope for Creation.
The grand Feast Day celebration theme centered on ‘Fostering hope within communities through communal living’. The Eucharistic celebration was followed by a vibrant procession, with the faithful carrying a beautifully adorned statue of St. Sebastian and a Relic of the saint.
On this occasion, a special issue of the Church bulletin ‘Pormoll’ was released at the hands of Fr. Eusico Pereira, Fr. Agnelo Rodrigues, and Fr. Josely Rocha.
