Goa, May 20, 2026: Catholic leaders of the Archdiocese of Goa–Daman gathered at the Archbishop’s House in Goa on 18 May for a meeting focused on exploring how 'The Chosen Encounter' sessions could become part of parish and community life across the Archdiocese.
Cardinal Filipe Neri Ferrao, Archbishop of Goa–Daman, introduced The Chosen TV series, along with Mr. Ajin Joseph, CCBI’s Catholic Engagement Manager for The Chosen and Associate Secretary of the Family Commission.
Presenting on the impact of The Chosen, Mr. Ajin Joseph shared how Chosen Encounter sessions could be thoughtfully incorporated into parish life and community settings. A brief Chosen Encounter session was also conducted for the dignitaries present, giving them an opportunity to experience how communities can gather around the story of Jesus and engage in meaningful conversations inspired by the Gospel.
The discussions reflected a shared desire to create spaces where people can come together, encounter the humanity of Christ through story, and deepen their relationship with Jesus within the life of the Church.
Following extensive discussions and deliberations, Cardinal Ferrao appointed a committee to review, plan, and execute future initiatives involving Catholic leaders across the Archdiocese.
Auxiliary Bishop Simião Purificação Fernandes of Goa–Daman, along with other Episcopal Vicars and directors of various centres of the Archdiocese, were also present for the meeting. Fr. Henry Falcao, Episcopal Vicar of Central Goa, prayerfully led the gathering through the opening and concluding prayers.
