Divine Retreat Centre Opens National Youth Retreat 2026 with Call to Spiritual Renewal

Kochi, May 20, 2026: A vibrant atmosphere of prayer, worship and youthful enthusiasm marked the inauguration of the National Youth Retreat (NYR) 2026 at the Divine Retreat Centre in Kerala on May 17, as young people from across India gathered for a nationwide experience of faith formation and spiritual renewal.

The retreat was formally inaugurated by Fr. Augustine Vallooran, who invited the youth to deepen their relationship with Christ and discover renewed purpose in their lives through prayer, worship and fellowship.

Known for hosting large-scale youth gatherings each year, the Divine Retreat Centre has long served as a spiritual destination for thousands seeking healing, transformation and a deeper encounter with God. Over the years, the centre has become a significant hub for Catholic youth ministry and evangelisation in India.

This year’s edition of the retreat has brought together an experienced team of preachers, worship leaders and youth ministers from different parts of the country, including Maria Sangeeta, Fr. Jacob Arimpur, Br. James and Lenny Soares.

The retreat also features vibrant praise and worship sessions led by Catholic bands and ministries such as Faithfully Yours, Incarnation and Faith, creating prayerful spaces for reflection, worship and spiritual growth among participants.

As hundreds of young people continue to participate in the gathering, NYR 2026 reflects the growing desire among the youth for meaning, faith and spiritual direction in a rapidly changing world. The retreat stands as a testimony to the Church’s continuing mission of accompanying young people and nurturing their faith journey through community, worship and evangelisation.
