Dindigul, July 20, 2024: Dindigul diocese in Tamil Nadu organised a special training programme for their clergy to implement national pastoral plan of the CCBI on 20 July 2024.
A monthly recollection for priests conducted by Dindigul diocese served as a platform to acquaint diocesan leaders and clergy members with CCBI’s Pastoral Plan for the Church in India and its role towards one another and the larger Indian community.
Bishop Thomas Paulsamy of Dindigul took the initiative to bring together priests, religious members, and diocesan leaders. He emphasized the urgent need to implement a plan to transform the local Church into a more synodal way. His call to action seeks to strengthen the Church's mission and witness in today's world by embracing dialogue, unity, and collective discernment.
With over 80 priests from dioceses and religious orders in attendance, the event featured a guest session by Fr. Christopher Vimalraj Hiruthya, Associate Deputy Secretary General of CCBI. His talk delved into key CCBI initiatives such as Communio, Catholic Connect, the Pastoral Plan and the forthcoming Plenary Assembly, which serve as key pillars for establishing a more connected and proactive Church.
The CCBI will release the national pastoral plan on September 11, 2024 and it will launch in all dioceses on November 24, 2024.
